Geediga Nabada! - The Somali Peace Caravan

Bill Brookman has created a team of 10 Somali artists, musicians, and poets to form Geediga Nabada ("Peace Caravan") who will organise cultural events, form pro-peace groups, educate, support and advance the peace agenda in Somalia.

In January Geediga Nabada was in Las saanood, on the disputed Somaliland/Puntland border when a bomber attempted to wreck peace initiatives. He died when the bomb he was carrying exploded prematurely.

The Observatory of Violence

We are working in partnership with UNDP, Kow Media Corp. (Djibouti/Hargeisa) and Hargeisa University Faculty of Conflict Studies to create an Observatory of Violence. This will be data-base and repository of information addressing issues of conflict and violence world-wide.

Hargeisa University is keen to create links with universities world wide. Please contact the Foundation for more information.
